Jouer Matte Moisture Tint — Was It Worth The Hype?

I have combination oily skin and this summer I was on the hunt for a foundation that would keep my face from getting greasy. After some research I came across NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Foundation from Ulta and surprisingly, I liked it a lot and used it most of the first part of summer! I still had to powder but certainly not as frequently as in the past. Naughty me still wasn’t satisfied so I just HAD to try Jouer’s Matte Moisture Tint with SPF 20. I purchased it in the shade Linen which is about two too light for me. I purchased it from nordstrom.com for $38 plus tax and according to the beauty stylist online, she mentioned that the shade Linen would be perfect for me since I wear a NC 30-35 in MAC and I like to go one shade lighter. Sadly, there are only 5 shades to choose from. Having the foundation now and looking at the swatches online, I probably should have purchased the shade Nude.

I’ve been sick with a terrible cough and cold and wanted to feel and look…well, even a little decent. So, I took out my brand spankin’ new Jouer Matte Moisture Tint and gave it a go. First off, I liked the packaging. It comes in a blush colored box and the tube itself is a deep brown with blush writing — so pretty! I used my Real Techniques Stippling Brush since I didn’t want a heavy application. It applied pretty well over my usual skin care products. This product definitely wouldn’t be best for someone with dry skin or even combination dry skin. It has great coverage considering it is a tinted moisturizer. I would say it provides a light to medium coverage. The beauty gurus say the coverage is comparable to Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer and I must say I agree. It lasted a good 4-5 hours before I started to notice it wearing down on my skin. Would I repurchase this item? Nah, probably not. This item, in my opinion wasn’t worth the hype.
